Research has shown that one of the best ways to improve outcomes for struggling students effectively and quickly is sound assessment practices. To accelerate learning prior to each new unit, teachers need pre-assessments that help them know how prepared each student is for new grade level learning. Furthermore, teachers need ongoing, embedded formative assessments throughout new learning to gauge each student’s progress with grade-level content.
