The Maricopa County School Superintendent is statutorily responsible for providing services supporting school governing board elections, bond and override elections, appointments, school finance, and maintaining homeschool and private school records. The superintendent also oversees the Maricopa County accommodation district.

Our Office’s Role

Each governing board operates independently, and each district maintains its own board information. When a board seat becomes vacant between elections, the Maricopa County School Superintendent appoints a qualified resident to fill it.

Meeting agendas are posted at least 24 hours in advance. Past minutes show what the board has decided.

Attend

Join in person, or watch online where your district streams or records its meetings.

Speak

Many boards hold a Call to the Public. Check your district’s procedures to sign up to address the board.
