Research different apps that use GIS data on your cell phone, computer, or other electronic device.
a) Choose one app that uses GIS data and describe the purpose of the app.b) How does the app display GIS data on the device?
c) Explain how the GIS data can be used by yourself, a family member, or a professional.
Think about an everyday activity where GIS data would be helpful. Create a diagram or cartoon and include the following:
a) Provide a name for the activity and describe it.
b)Explain how GIS data would be useful for this activity.
c) What type of device(s) and App would you need to access GIS data for this activity?
d) How should the GIS data be displayed on the device? (Draw a picture)
e) Why is it beneficial to use GIS data compared to other forms of data collection such a person manually collecting location information?
f) Present and/or share your diagram/cartoon with others in your class or household.
