Dear Educators/Parents: Thank you for taking the time to use our resources. Use these questions as a starting point to help your students develop understanding of todays topic. Please keep in mind that answers will vary based on your student's grade level. Remember the most important part of learning is having our students experience productive struggle as they develop their own understanding based on their research and prior knowledge.

Pre-Lesson Questions:

1. Research the internet for environmental footprint and explain the meaning of environmental footprint to someone in your house.
2. Research the internet for sustainability and explain the meaning of sustainability to someone in your house.

Post-Lesson Activity:

Develop a plan that can be easily implemented by your family to decrease your family’s environmental footprint.

Things to consider: What simple steps can your family take at home to reduce their environmental footprint? What type of things can your family reuse for multiple purposes? How can you reduce your energy consumption? How can you reduce the amount of items you use? How can you increase your recycling efforts.
