Brain Warm-ups: The Power of Success Starters!

According to the author of Learning in the Fast Lane, Suzy Pepper Rollins, when using the Acceleration Framework, Success Starters should never be skipped. Why? Because students who struggle academically are likely to shut down if they are not curious about the new learning and don’t see a real-world or personal connection right out of the gate. From our previous TXTS4 Teachers, you learned that Success Starters are a must during the one to two days prior to the introduction of a new unit to help students jump right in to grade level content. But, why not use them with every day with each lesson to get all students involved in new learning right away?
