The Maricopa County School Superintendent is statutorily responsible for providing services supporting school governing board elections, bond and override elections, appointments, school finance, and maintaining homeschool and private school records. Arrival & Meeting Point

Please arrive 15 minutes before your shift. Meet the MCSS team at our tent near Gate 2 (north end, under the giant red “2”).

Weather & Dress Code

Plan for full sun and high heat throughout your shift.

Please wear
  • Shorts and comfortable shoes
  • MCSS Staff (purple shirts) and Phoenix Elementary (red shirts) are handed out on site at the outside tent where you report.
  • Sunscreen
On site we’ll have two shade awnings, a very large evaporative cooler, and cold water and snacks. You’re welcome to bring your own too — an insulated cup for ice water is a good idea.

Vendor lounge: a lounge with discounted food and drinks is available inside the stadium. Use your vendor badge for restrooms and the lounge — please do not use a ticket.

On-Site Workflow

Sorting Donations

Keep the tent moving and the truck organized with these four steps.

Bag the Backpacks
Put backpacks in trash bags and toss the full bags into the Penske truck parked on site.
Box the Supplies
Sort loose supplies into the labeled boxes, then place full boxes in the truck. Extra bags, boxes, and tape are in the truck if you need them.
Load to the Front
Move items toward the front of the truck to make daily set-up and break-down easier.
Crayons to the Back
Crayons go in the back of the truck in the smaller labeled boxes for unloading each night — so they don’t melt.
