Superintendent Boggs Appoints and Swears In Kevin Maldonado to Cave Creek Unified Governing Board
PHOENIX, AZ — Maricopa County School Superintendent Shelli Boggs has appointed and sworn in Kevin Maldonado to the Cave Creek Unified School District Governing Board to fill the current vacancy.
Mr. Maldonado is a longtime district resident and the parent of two former Horseshoe Trails Elementary students. He brings more than two decades of experience as a business owner, with a background in financial oversight, organizational compliance, and operational management. He has co-owned and operated a Scottsdale-based company since 2003, leading its financial reporting and helping grow annual sales from less than $1 million to $12 million.
His record of community service includes a year as President of the Rotary Club of Scottsdale, five years on its Board of Directors, and service as First Vice President of the Scottsdale Rotary Club Foundation. He currently serves on the Finance Committee of Rotary International District 5495, providing financial oversight for nearly 70 clubs and youth programs across roughly two-thirds of Arizona, and as Treasurer of the US Marshals Posse. He studied economics at the University of California, Los Angeles, and is a graduate of the SBA Emerging Leaders and Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses programs.
"Kevin Maldonado brings the financial discipline, governance experience, and community commitment this role calls for. As a parent in the district and a leader who has spent years keeping organizations accountable to the people they serve, he understands that strong oversight and high expectations go hand in hand. I am confident he will serve the students, families, and educators of Cave Creek Unified exceptionally well."
— Superintendent Shelli Boggs
"I recognize that enrollment at Cave Creek Unified has declined, and I believe the path forward starts with earning back the trust of parents. That means solidifying school safety and ensuring sound financial oversight, so families can be confident their district is well run and their children are well served."
— Kevin Maldonado
Mr. Maldonado and his family have called the Cave Creek community home for many years. We wish him great success in this role. For more information about the Cave Creek Unified School District Governing Board, visit www.ccusd93.org.
