Strategic Library Partnerships

Laurie King

Librarians offer collaborative strategic planning to support content delivery in the classroom. Librarians build programs to address identified content gaps to reinforce what teachers are doing in the classroom.

Contact your local library to begin the discussion of how this partnership can support student discovery and growth.

Clean Water, Students Can Help!

Laurie King

Let us come to you! The Stormwater program delivers FREE K-8 educational programs in the classroom. These one-hour programs first engage students by giving them background information on what stormwater is, and how stormwater becomes polluted. We then allow students to explore the topic through age-appropriate hands-on activities demonstrating stormwater pollution. We wrap up the program by discussing how we can work together to protect our drinking and recreational waters.

We have 5 programs depending on the age group of the students that align with Arizona state standards.

The first poses the challenge for students. All challenges are actual issues that are being grappled with in our community right now.

The second provides teachers with necessary background information, guiding questions, and suggested resources to solve the challenges.
